2018 started out extremely promising, but ended up being one of the hardest years of my entire life. I’ve learned that I should not be an afterthought in any relationship, to love myself more, to keep my independence, and to never give up. The end of summer is when my whole world completely fell apart. I was reaching out and grabbing what I could before I broke, but in the end I realized that I just needed to let the memory fade. There are blessings in disguise with pain, even though they hurt like hell. I’ve been able to be more in tune with my emotions, which I’ve always struggled with growing up. I’ve come to realize that asking for help is okay and your friends and family love you, even if someone close to you changes their mind. I can do hard things even when life is tough, but I need to fight for it. I have also learned that sometimes when the fire has extinguished, I need to let it go. Being able to know when situations are unhealthy is a trade I’ve come to understand better. Knowing when someone is genuine in their efforts or lack thereof is now becoming extremely apparent to me. Selfishness will not get you far in life, especially if you drag others along with you because you know they dont want to be without you. Running has always been a cowards way out and sometimes we need to take a step back and look around us to find what we are grateful for. There is so much to rejoice and love. I am so grateful that I was able to experience these hardships this year so that I may become a better person and help others in these types of situations. I am also so grateful for my beliefs in a Heavenly Father and our savior, Jesus Christ. They have helped me so much and have shown me so much love, peace, and comfort. I am extremely grateful to be apart of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the people I have come to know through the church. The kindness and love given is incredible through faithful members. I am especially grateful for the temples and the opportunities I’ve been given to attend them. Thank you to everyone that has been there for me these past few months as I’ve been going through these growing pains. Here’s to a great 2019!
